# List terminals

GET https://javelin.runpayments.io/api/terminal

Returns the terminals registered to the account. Each terminal includes a `capabilities` object describing what the hardware supports.
Check these flags before offering signature capture or receipt printing in your UI.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Use a Payments API key as the bearer token: `Authorization: Bearer <api_key>`. Get a fresh key from [Refresh API Keys](/reference/authentication/refresh-api-keys).

## Request

### Query parameters

- `mid` (string, optional) — Merchant ID. Required when your bearer token is an ISV token acting on behalf of a merchant. If the `mid` can't be resolved to an authorized account, the request returns `400`.

- `errors` (list of string, optional) — Error messages.

### 429 Too Many Requests Error

Rate limit exceeded. All Terminal API endpoints share a per-credential rate limit.

## Types

### Terminal

- `device_id` (string, required) — Hardware Serial Number (HSN).
- `name` (string, required) — Display name of the terminal.
- `capabilities` (TerminalCapabilities, required) — What the terminal hardware supports.

### TerminalCapabilities

What the terminal hardware supports.

- `signature` (boolean, optional) — Whether `include_signature` captures a signature. Clover devices only.
- `printer` (boolean, optional) — Whether `print-receipt` and `print_receipt` work. `true` only on Clover Flex and Clover Mini; always `false` on other devices. This is a hardware limitation, not a temporary state.
- `msr` (boolean, optional) — Magnetic stripe (swipe) reads.
- `emv` (boolean, optional) — Chip (dip) reads.
- `nfc` (boolean, optional) — Contactless (tap) reads.
- `pin_pad` (boolean, optional) — PIN entry.
